2012 BUSINESS & INDIVIDUAL OF THE YEAR AWARD NOMINATION FORM
Each year the Albany Area Black Expo (AABE) honors outstanding businesses and individuals in the community who are demonstrating a commitment to inclusion and diversity in their business practices.
To be eligible, all applicants should demonstrate a commitment the following criteria:
• Show innovation in diversity programs
• Demonstrate a commitment to employee involvement in diversity activities
• Demonstrate community involvement/leadership in diversity.
• Demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity in the Southwest Georgia community
Award Categories:
Micro Business Award
- A very small business with 1-9 Employees
Small Business Award
- A Business with 10-49 Employees
Medium Sized Business Award
- Any business with 50-499 employees
Large Business Award 500+ Employees
- The large business award is giving to a business with 500 or more employees.
Nonprofit of the Year Award
- Non-profit organizations play an important role in the Southwest Georgia community, standing in the gap and serving people from all walks of life. Often providing services that would likely be otherwise unavailable, the works of local non-profits have a profound impact on the lives of almost everyone here.
Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year Award
- The Distinguished Entrepreneur of Year Award honors individuals who exemplify true entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic generosity.
Businessperson of the Year Award
- The purpose of the award is to honor a businessman or woman for outstanding accomplishments in promoting a favorable environment for business in the Southwest Georgia Area.
